The President of the Portuguese Republic confers a condecoration on the President of INDASA

It was with great honor and satisfaction, that INDASA received a visit from the President of Portugal, on the 22nd of April 2014, at the company headquarters, located in Aveiro, Portugal.

Founded in 1979 by Benjamim Pinho dos Santos, president of the board, INDASA is a leading global export company, specializing in the production and distribution of coated abrasives and surface preparation systems.

The company’s global business model and continued commitment to invest and expand in a responsible manner were the key attributes that allowed INDASA to be selected by the Presidency and to be the first company to be visited in the "Route to a Dynamic Economy".


During this visit, the President of Portugal Aníbal Cavaco Silva highlighted INDASA as an example of a dynamic and innovative company with strong presence in the global market.

INDASA exports 90% of its products to affiliated companies in Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, Poland and the United States of America and to a network of partners located in more than 100 countries, in five continents.


During this visit the President of Portugal showed great interest in the R&D and production processes as well as the current export business of INDASA.

The President also had the opportunity to see the final stages of the 14 million euro plant expansion, supported by IAPMEI SI Inovação - QREN. This investment will increase the production capacity, and productivity of the growing business, allowing the company to continually service the demand for INDASA’s products in markets such as the United States of America, Brazil, India, China and the Middle East.


The current growth perspectives are positive, with an overall increase in sales of 18% in the first quarter of 2014. This growth reinforces the commitment of the business and current investment to deliver an additional 49% of growth adding till 2017 approximately more 16 millions of Euros to the current turnover.
