Last week we’ve had the privilege to welcome in our Academy part of the team of Técnico Solar Boat – an unique project in the Iberian Peninsula that is exclusively composed by cross-degree engineering students, with the goal of developing a solar powered boat to participate in engineering competitions organized by Solar Sport One and Yatch Clube de Monaco.

This Project promotes renewable energies, sustainability and electric mobility and is based on a multidisciplinary approach between Electrical Systems, Mechanical Systems, Hull Design and Composites, Management and Marketing and the brand-new Hydrogen Propulsion department – created with the scope to develop the new boat.

The collaboration with Universities is part of our history and this partnership between INDASA and Instituto Superior Técnico is visible on a several projects. The cooperation with Técnico Solar Boat is based on the supply of the best solutions for surface preparation – in this particular case, abrasives and other complementary products dedicated to the composite industries.

In the upcoming days of this project are improvements in the development of the boat, with the objective of achieving the first place in the competitions they are enrolled in.
